About

GETTING TO KNOW US

Having a long-time association with Bearded Collies, we are down to one Bearded Collie, Lucy, at home, having lost our Steven in November. We no longer breed Bearded Collies but they provided us with a lifetime of memories. Missing the enjoyment from the sport of dogs and our dogs being too old to actively participate or breed, we purchased a Briard to maintain our involvement. We felt at the time that acquiring another Beardie would result in much second guessing on our part and wouldn't be fair. Always addicted to hair, we chose a Briard for our diversion. Another great choice it has been.

Giving back, we have been very active in our all-breed club, Lorain County Kennel Club, and Joe judges occasionally at AKC shows. Ages ago, Joe was a Board member, Co-Chaired the 1st National Specialty and served as a past President of the Bearded Collie Club of America while Marsha was magazine editor for the BCCA.

Crew CHIEF

Daughter Karen has been a very important part of our dog activities and it would be remiss not to recognize her awesome contributions.

CREW

Daughters Vicki, Jodie & Jill spend required time working at our summer dog shows.

JUDGING

Joe is an AKC licensed judge for Briards and Bearded Collies and is approved to judge the Herding Group, all the breeds in the Herding Group and Boxers, Doberman Pinschers and Alaskan Malamutes as well as Best in Show and Junior Showmanship.

CLUB WORK

Marsha is past President and is currently Treasurer of Lorain County Kennel Club while Joe has been Show Chair since 1983. We are proud of having spearheaded the purchase of property for the Lorain County KC in August 1991, introducing a tree donor's program, starting the ring-side reservations concept, initiating construction of a large shelter and adding drives on the grounds. These and maintaining the grounds consumed enormous amounts of time over the years, but has secured a wonderful future for area dogs.
